Chief Regulation #4 and Title 19 testing, start to finish

In the City of Los Angeles, fire and life-safety systems have to be tested on schedule under LAFD Chief Regulation 4. We track the schedule, run the tests, file the reports, and fix what we find.

What building owners need to know

LAFD Chief Regulation 4 sets testing requirements for fire protection and life-safety systems in Los Angeles, including annual and five-year tests. The tests have to be performed by a certified company, and the results go to the fire department.

Keeping up with the schedule is the building owner's responsibility, even if you haven't received a notice from the fire department. Missing a test can lead to violations and re-inspection fees.

Outside the City of Los Angeles, we test to California State Fire Marshal Title 19 requirements.

How it works

  1. We schedule and test

A certified technician tests each system on site and walks you through anything we find.

  2. We file the report

Within seven days, the report goes to you and to the fire department.

  3. We fix what's found

If a system has deficiencies, you get a clear repair quote and one team to do the work.

  4. We re-test and certify

Once repairs are done, we re-test and certify the system, and remind you before the next test is due.
